Day-to-day responsibilities include audit fieldwork and client communication and interaction. Most of the work includes conduct of audit procedures and testing.
My day involves going to clients and obtaining all the relevant information from them to complete my audit work. Audit work generally involves testing different accounts and assertions and inquiring about the client's internal controls.
Corporate tax items
Mainly completing tax returns and end of year financial reports for clients. Some client meetings and assistance with other client concerns including tax planning, succession planning, ATO dealings and software implementation.
Billing, liaising with creditors/employees, paperwork, investigating
Assisting colleagues with tax returns, Xero conversion and financial data entry, FBT matters and working with super funds.
If I am assigned to a client, I will audit sections like cash and cash equivalents, accounts receivable, accounts payable. Communicate with client if it is necessary.
In BA, your day to day role changes based on the client you are working on. So the work that I am responsible for includes preparing Income Tax Returns and Financial Statements for Individuals, Trusts and Company's. Also preparing compliance based work such as Activity Statements. I also do some OCFO work that entails items like payroll and month end management accounts.

As an auditor we look through clients' accounts to determine their balances are reasonably accurate. I mostly test simpler, lower risk accounts as a graduate, including payables/receivables/expenses/cash and a few others. The work is interesting, but it can be a super high pressure environment when busy season hits.
