Wake up, shower, have breakfast and leave for work.
The first thing I do when I get to work is to make myself a coffee, check my emails for anything important or urgent and action them if need be. I walk the sales floor to make sure everything is ticketed and tidy. I check my to-do folder for anything urgent that needs to be done first and then I make a list for my team based on my emails and floor walk of things that need to be done today and for the week.
9.00 AM to 11.00 AM
To start the workday I have a short meeting with my team to instruct and delegate the tasks for the day and week. I then write myself a list of tasks for the day and answer any remaining emails. I do any jobs that have been assigned to me, which is usually chasing up suppliers for purchase orders and helping customers book in service calls. I also organise credit claims or getting stock brought to the floor for display. There is a whole range of things I do at this time depending on what is a high priority.
11.00 AM to 3.00 PM
During the busier period, I help staff sell electrical goods on the floor in our white goods department and cover lunch breaks. I usually do quite a few checks throughout the day of the sales data. If it is lacking I try and motivate the team and drive sales.
3.00 PM to 5.00 PM
In the afternoon we have a meeting with the managers and our Proprietor to discuss upcoming events, marketing, and advertising ideas, any pressing customer issues, inventory, and stock rotation as well as any issues or topics.
5.00 PM to 5.30 PM
In the last hour of the day, I review what we have achieved for the day and evaluate what is still yet to be done and will need to be done in the upcoming days. I make sure the staff have completed their tasks and check the sales data for the last time.
After work, I go home to cook myself dinner and go to the gym across the road after a few episodes of my latest show I happen to be watching. Then home to bed ready to start again!
