Please describe the interview process and assessments.
The task based group assessment was interesting... I havent done this before. I can see this was a commination and personality test ,as much as anything.. but foreign students struggled to assert themselves.

the interview process was great. I got a email from HR to attend the assessments centre in Perth. We did a bit of team discussion based on specific situations and played game together. I have received my offer a month after my interview.

The assessment centre was run quite well. However, there was not as much clarity/communication on what was occurring behind the scenes. An email that informed me that my application was still being considered would have been appreciated.

Graduates are hired through a 3 step process. 1. Assessment Centre- where the grads are given tasks to work in teams and showcase their skill and enthusiasm. 2. Psychometric Test- Very Challenging cognitive aptitude test 3. Final Interview

There was only a group interview where we were asked to perform as a team and demonstrate skills throughout activities.

Why do you want to work at Austal? What are your career goals? What is your approach to problem solving? What is your approach to engineering? What is your approach to working in a team?
Graduate, Perth
The questions asked were along the lines of getting to know what values I would add to the company, what my interests were and how I would bet fit within the Austal environment. I would state my interview was mostly an interactive session rather than a strict question answer type.
