Culture at Austal Australia

7.8 rating for Culture, based on 13 reviews
Please describe your company's culture both in the office and after hours. Let us know about the structure and hierarchy, cooperation and teamwork, and socialising amongst colleagues.
As cliche as it sounds, the people here are one of Austals best assets. They are usually happy to help. The Grads have formed a good group and we organise social events and have lunch together on regular basis. Also we help each other out with technical job related issues or advice.

Company culture in office hours is very good. Austal as a company is quite lean in structure and therefore more of a horizontal hierarchy structure. Socialising and Teamwork is not very well promoted in and outside the Office. I believe this may be due to lack of social interaction outside of the office and also the nature of the work conducted.

Company values are excellence , customer focus, integrity and team work. And working in the company you can feel everyone adhering to those values. Work environment is very healthy.

I have had the opportunity to work with various managers and departments, as my current role takes me through different departments, and all those managers have been really approachable and were able to bring the best out of me. The different departments do get together every now and then. We also cat-up to celebrate after major milestones like handing over a big project and all..
